South Korea's ruling People Power Party (PPP) is considering joining the impeachment vote later on Saturday, Yonhap News Agency reported, citing Representative Cho Kyung-tae.
Party officials have been in discussions since the morning, with Cho revealing that opinions within the party are divided, as some members favor the motion and others oppose it. "There is a stark difference in stance between those who approve and those who disapprove," he was cited as saying.
Last weekend, a motion to impeach Yoon over this declaration was dismissed in parliament after the ruling party left the National Assembly, boycotting the proceedings.
