Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Adel al-Jubeir stated on Friday that the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi did not involve the Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman (sometimes referred to as MBS in the West).
"We know that this was not an authorized operation. There was no order given to conduct this operation," he remarked, but declined to comment on the New York Times report that alleged MBS said in 2017 he would go after Khashoggi with "a bullet." The NYT cited US intelligence which reportedly intercepted the recording of bin Salman telling that to his aide Turki Aldakhil.
