United States Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer shared in a letter to US President Joe Biden on Wednesday that he will be officially retiring tomorrow, June 30.
"It has been my great honor to participate as a judge in the effort to maintain our Constitution and the Rule of Law," Breyer wrote. He will retire at noon, local American time, after the court issues "all remaining opinions" of the current term.
Breyer will be replaced by Biden's appointee Ketanji Brown Jackson, who received 53 Senate votes in support of her nomination.
