The United States Supreme Court ruled against President Donald Trump on Thursday over his attempt to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy.
DACA, introduced by former President Barack Obama in 2012, protects undocumented immigrants known as Dreamers that arrived in the US as children from deportation.
The Supreme Court voted 5-4 against the Trump administration's effort to end the program, with Chief Justice John Roberts joining his Democrat-appointed colleagues Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.
