The Dow Jones Industrial Average on Wall Street continued to climb on Wednesday, gaining over 700 points. This surge was driven by the strong performance of UnitedHealth Group Inc., which topped the list of companies making gains after the release of its second-quarter earnings report. The report revealed a 6% year-on-year increase in revenue, reaching $98.9 billion.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average index gained 1.79% or 718 points at 2:55 pm ET with UnitedHealth jumping 6.10% a minute later. Following the multinational health insurance, Caterpillar Inc. and Boeing Co. went 4.54% and 4.06% up, respectively. The S&P 500 gained 0.52% with Match Group Inc surging 7.78%. The Nasdaq 100 dropped 0.11% as Constellation Energy Corp. fell 3.11%.
The euro was flat against the dollar at 2:55 pm ET, to sell for $1.08971.
