Head of the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology Alexander Gintsburg stated on Friday that the registration of the single-shot coronavirus vaccine "Sputnik Light" is expected to happen at the beginning of May.
Speaking to Interfax, Gintsburg said that the registration will come after all stages of the examination are completed, adding "if all goes well, probably closer to the May holidays." He also said that the use of the Sputnik Light vaccine "halves" the risk of getting the virus.
Registration has been filed in March for the use of the Sputnik Light vaccine after the clinical trials were completed and Russia's Health Minister called the results promising.
