Sunak prioritizes inflation over tax cuts

Former Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak told BBC radio on Thursday that priority should be given to tackling inflation rather than imposing tax cuts, as the former is the country's main economic concern at the moment.

"I will get taxes down in this parliament but I'm going to do so responsibly because I don't cut taxes to win elections, I win elections to cut taxes," stated Sunak.

Previously, it was revealed that Sunak was the winner of the first round of the Conservative Party leadership race, gaining 88 votes. The second ballot will be taking place today.
