Super Micro Computer Inc. (SMCI) and Deckers Outdoor Corp. have been officially added to the S&P 500 index, thus replacing Whirlpool Corp. and Zions Bancorporation, S&P Dow Jones Indices announced late Friday.
This latest quarterly weighting change signaled the growth of the two companies, while Whirpool and Zions are set to take their places in the S&P MidCap 400, with all of the changes effective before the open of trading on March 18.
SMCI stock rose modestly and Deckers climbed slightly late Friday, while Whirpool and Zions fell slightly.
