The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) confirmed that the accession talks between Sweden and Finland have been finalized on Monday, formally declaring their "willingness and ability to meet the political, legal and military obligations and commitments of NATO membership."
The discussions were held between NATO officials and representatives from Finland and Sweden.
Following the conclusion of the negotiations, allies will sign the Accession Protocols for Finland and Sweden at NATO Headquarters on Tuesday, which will then be sent to the alliance's member countries for ratification "in accordance with their respective national procedures," the statement read.
