The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Israel has attacked targets in Quneitra in southern Syria. The shells were, reportedly, launched from the Israeli-occupied part of the Golan Heights. At the same time, the Israeli army said air raid sirens have sounded in the Golan Heights.
Syria's state SANA agency said there were no reports of casualties in the attack on the city of Baath in northern Quneitra. The Israeli army said Iranian forces in Syria fired about 20 projectiles at their positions in the Golan Heights. The army said Israeli defense systems intercepted "some" of the rockets that caused minimal damage on the Israeli side and no Israeli casualties.
SANA reporter later that Syrian air defenses intercepted Israeli missiles fired from Lebanese airspace. The agency said the attack on targets near Damascus was a retaliation for the Golan Heights strikes.
