Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, expressed on Tuesday his optimism for the job market during his testimony at the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Privacy Technology and the Law. Altman emphasized that instead of causing job losses, artificial intelligence has the potential to enhance the job market.

At present, these technologies have their flaws, but according to Altman, they will progressively get better. "It is important to understand that ChatGPT is a tool, not a feature... GPT4 and other systems are good at tasks and not jobs," Altman added.

When asked about his apprehensions, Altman expressed concern about the political implications of ChatGPT-like tools, particularly in the upcoming US election and similar scenarios.
