United States President Donald Trump claimed that he stopped military aid to Ukraine because he didn't see any signs they "wanna settle."

"I have to know that they wanna settle. I don't know that they wanna settle. If they don't wanna settle, we're out of there," Trump stated. "Because I want them to settle. And I am doing it to stop death," he insisted.

The US president added that there is a danger of the Ukraine war escalating into "World War III" if a settlement is not reached. He also noted he would like to end the war "before any security guarantees," despite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky constantly stressing they would be needed to ensure lasting peace.
