Trump: Kavanaugh case driving up support of voters

United States President Donald Trump said in a tweet on Thursday that "unfair" treatment of his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is driving up voters' support for Republicans. He stressed once again that the sexual assault allegations made by Christine Blasey Ford and two other women against Judge Kavanaugh have not been backed up by any credible evidence.

Trump said in a tweet: "The harsh and unfair treatment of Judge Brett Kavanaugh is having an incredible upward impact on voters. The PEOPLE get it far better than the politicians. Most importantly, this great life cannot be ruined by mean & despicable Democrats and totally uncorroborated allegations!"

The president tweeted out the message as the FBI report on the allegations is being reviewed by the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, ahead of the final vote on Kavanaugh's admission to the highest court in the land, due for the weekend. The document was already reviewed by the White House, after which deputy spokesperson Raj Shah said there is "full confidence" in Kavanaugh's confirmation. He later told CNN that 10 people were contacted during the five-day probe, six more than the four that were on the Senate Committee's list.
