Trump says he cannot be impeached

EPA-EFE / CRAIG LASSIG

United States President Donald Trump said in a tweet on Monday that there are no grounds to impeach him as findings from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe showed there was no evidence he colluded with Russian officials nor that he obstructed justice.

"Only high crimes and misdemeanors can lead to impeachment. There were no crimes by me (No Collusion, No Obstruction), so you can’t impeach. It was the Democrats that committed the crimes, not your Republican President! Tables are finally turning on the Witch Hunt!" Trump wrote.

Last week, several congressional Democrats, including Senator and presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren, called for Trump's impeachment as Representative Al Green claimed the Mueller report provided "ample evidence" to oust the president.
