Merseyside Police confirmed on Monday that two children were killed and nine injured in a stabbing attack at a Taylor Swift dance event in Southport, England.
The stabbings occurred at a property on Hart Street at 12:50 CET and the perpetrator, identified as a 17-year-old from Lancashire was arrested. "It is understood that the children were attending a Taylor Swift event at a dance school when the offender armed with a knife walked into the premises and started to attack the children," Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy said at a press conference.
Six children are in critical condition, as well as two adults, who according to Kennedy, were trying to defend them when the attack took place. The police stated the attacker's motive is still unclear and is not considering the attack to be an act of terrorism.
