The United Kingdom decided to temporarily halt its future financial support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the Guardian reported on Saturday, citing the UK's foreign, commonwealth, and development office.

In a statement, the agency expressed its dismay in response to allegations that UNRWA staff were involved in the October 7 attack against Israel, describing the attack as "a heinous act of terrorism that the UK government has repeatedly condemned."

A statement conveyed to the media outlet comes after the United States, Canada, Australia and Italy made the same move.
