Newly appointed Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt told Sky News on Saturday that his predecessor Kwasi Kwarteng and Prime Minister Liz Truss made mistakes in their budget that could see some taxes rise.

"There were mistakes," the former health secretary admitted, adding that Truss recognized her administration was wrong to "fly blind" and do forecasts without the Office for Budget Responsibility confirming that the sums add up.

Hunt previously confirmed he would deliver a new fiscal statement on October 31.
