The British government called on legislators to support the United Kingdom's agreement with the European Union on post-Brexit trade relations in Northern Ireland.
"The Stormont Brake is important and the most significant part of the framework, and we continue to urge parliamentarians to back it ... I don't get into commenting on messages to Conservative MPs, but broadly this is a good deal for the people of Northern Ireland," Rishi Sunak's spokesperson said.
The remarks come ahead of the vote on the so-called Windsor Framework in the parliament scheduled for March 22. The deal will likely pass the House despite opposition from the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP).
