United Nations Security Council delayed until Thursday, December 21, voting on a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, CNN reported on Wednesday, citing a staffer at the office of the UN secretary-general's office.
According to the report, the reason for the latest postponement of voting is the United States disagreement on language formulations of the text, such as "cessation of hostilities" and the call for the UN to "establish a monitoring mechanism in the Gaza Strip with the necessary personnel and equipment, under the authority of the United Nations Secretary-General."
The vote on the UN Gaza resolution has been postponed several times since Monday.
