WH: No indications Russia will use nuclear arms

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday commented on the announcement Russia began transferring some of its nuclear weaponry to Belarus, stressing that there is no reason to believe it would lead to escalation.

She noted that there are "no indications Russia is going to use nuclear weapons from Belarus," and therefore no rationale to "adjust the nuclear posture" of the United States. Jean-Pierre concluded that this only marks another example of making "irresponsible and provocative choices" on Moscow's part.
