United States Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield (pictured) remarked on Tuesday there is still no proof Russia has withdrawn a number of its troops from its border with Ukraine despite saying it will do so.
"It would be welcome news if it is legitimate. We have not seen evidence of that yet," she put in a written statement read by her spokesperson.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry announced it will withdraw some of its troops located near the border with Ukraine. Later on, the latter country Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that "if a real withdrawal follows these statements, we will believe in the beginning of a real de-escalation."
