The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was adopted unanimously in the Senate earlier this week. It includes direct payments to individuals and families who lost their jobs in the largest unemployment spike in America's history. Additionally, funds are allocated for forgivable loans to support businesses and help for health care providers, state and local governments.
Republican congressman from Kentucky, Thomas Massie, called for a roll call vote, however, this was denied as a quorum was present and a faster, voice vote was possible.
