United States Department of State Principal Deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel revealed on Tuesday that thousands of North Korean troops that have been deployed to Russia's Kursk region "have begun engaging in combat operations with Russian forces."
Russia and North Korea ratified a strategic comprehensive agreement, which includes a defense article ensuring that both countries will offer immediate military assistance to one another in the event of war. Earlier this month, the State Department warned that the 10,000 North Korean soldiers could soon join combat near the frontlines against the Ukrainian army.
