Wall Street sharply up at open, Dow surges over 1,350 pts

Major stock exchanges in the United States traded with significant gains at the open on Tuesday as various countries across the world expressed readiness to hold negotiations with the Trump administration about the tariffs issue. Japan was among the first ones to reach out, with Washington and Tokyo officials set to talk soon.

The Dow Jones shot up 3.60% or 1,377 points at the opening bell, with UnitedHealth soaring 10.34% at 9:31 am ET. The Nasdaq 100 soared 3.54% or 618 points at 9:30 am ET, as Applovin jumped 10.32%, a minute later. The S&P 500 jumped 3.38% at the open, with Humana adding 14.70% at 9:32 am ET.

The euro traded 0.42% above the dollar at 9:29 am ET, going for 1.09522.
