White House National Security Adviser Mike Waltz addressed concerns on Fox News about journalist Jeffrey Goldberg's presence in a private Signal chat discussing US military actions against the Houthis in Yemen.

When asked how "the Trump-hating editor of The Atlantic" ended up in the group, Waltz said, "I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but of all the people out there, somehow this guy who lied about the president … gets sucked into this group."

Goldberg said he received an invitation from an account identified as Waltz on March 11 and was added two days later.
