Wang Yi: China to assist in solving Ukraine conflict

Chinese Central Foreign Affairs Commission Office Director Wang Yi on Wednesday expressed Beijing's gratitude to Russia for what he described as its intention to solve the conflict in Ukraine via diplomatic methods.

Speaking at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, he expressed China's willingness to play a constructive role in solving the crisis. Commenting on China's relations with Russia, he said his country is ready to strengthen strategic cooperation and safeguard the legitimate interests of the two nations.

Wang also stressed that the bilateral relations between Russia and China are not directed against third parties.
