Speaking to reporters on Thursday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said that the administration is "very prepared" for the possible legal challenges against the national emergency declaration.
"We're very prepared, but there shouldn't be [legal challenges]. The president's doing his job. Congress should do theirs," the press secretary stated.
Not long after it was announced that United States President Donald Trump plans to sign the spending bill and also declare a national emergency over "crisis" on the border with Mexico, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi threatened with "legal challenge" against the motion.
