Billionaire Elon Musk's X Corp., formerly known as Twitter Inc., will reportedly slash its election integrity team by half, sources told The Information on Wednesday.

The reported layoffs would come less than a month after the company announced its intentions to enlarge the team.

The news follows backlash the company received from the European Union, with European Commission Vice President Vera Jourova accusing X of having the "largest ratio of mis/disinformation posts" among other social media platforms that submitted reports to the EU.
