Zelensky: Meeting with Putin less likely

EPA-EFE/UKRAINIAN PRESIDENTIAL PRESS SERVICE

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that it is possible he will not meet Russian President Vladimir Putin following reports of alleged war crimes committed by the Russian troops in Ukraine. Zelensky stated he now views "even the possibility of negotiations as a challenge," although he added the two sides should continue talks, even if they do not agree on all points.

The Ukrainian president said there is "more than enough evidence" of war crimes and that the investigation of crimes in Bucha and other cities should accelerate. The European Union and the United States stated on Monday that they will assist Ukraine in the probe, with the EU poised to introduce more sanctions against Russia on Wednesday.
