Russia's Foreign Ministry handed over a note to the United States Embassy, demanding Washington to stop interfering in Moscow's state affairs, TASS reported on Tuesday citing ministry sources.

"On February 7 this year, an official note was handed over to the US Embassy in Moscow demanding to stop actions irreconcilable with the status of the diplomatic mission, amounting to interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation," the agency's source was quoted as saying. According to TASS, Kremlin will expel all American diplomats found to conduct "subversive work," noting that the embassy speaks inappropriately against Russian leadership.

Lynne Tracy, the newly appointed US ambassador to Russia arrived in Moscow in late January after the Senate confirmed her nomination for the role in December 2022.
