South Korea will reconsider the matter of supplying weapons to Ukraine, National Security Advisor Chang Ho-jin said on Thursday. "So far, our government has maintained its position not to send lethal weapons to Ukraine," Chang pointed out.
The remarks come a day after Russia and North Korea signed a strategic partnership treaty that would ensure military assistance to either of the two countries in case of war. Chang has expressed South Korea's condemnation of the agreement, underlining that any direct or indirect help to bolster North Korea's military power represents a violation of the United Nations Security Council resolution and warned that this agreement could have a negative impact on Seoul-Moscow relations.
Earlier today, South Korea stated that it will "sternly respond" to any action that threatens the country's security.
