North Korea stated that its partnership treaty signed with Russia ensures military assistance "without delay" in the event of war, KCNA reported Thursday, citing the treaty.

"If one of either parties are placed under war situations due to an armed invasion from an individual country or several nations, the other side provides military and other assistance without delay by mobilizing all means in its possession," the treaty reads. Furthermore, Russia and North Korea are not to enter into agreements with third countries that may pose a threat to the sovereignty and security of the two, according to the news agency.
