At least 20 people were injured in a train collision early Sunday in Minya province, southern Egypt, but there were no fatalities reported, according to the Egyptian Health Ministry.
The incident happened when a locomotive traveling from Qena hit the rear of a passenger train traveling from Aswan to Cairo, causing two carriages to derail into the Ibrahimiyah Canal, but the main train continued its journey.
In response to the accident, Transport Minister Kamel al-Wazir has set up a committee of railway experts to investigate the causes of the collision.
