Acting S. Korean president Han speaks to Biden

Acting South Korean President Han Duck-soo spoke on the phone with United States President Joe Biden on Sunday following the impeachment of South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol on Saturday. Yoon was impeached less than two weeks after he briefly imposed martial law, provoking strong reactions at home and internationally. The South Korean Constitutional Court must approve the motion within six months.

According to Han's office, he vowed to "carry out our diplomatic and security policies without disruption and make efforts so that the South Korea-US alliance continues to be maintained and developed without wavering."
