Sean Cassidy, Amazon.com Inc.'s drone delivery unit executive, announced his departure from the company, as reported by CNBC.
Cassidy was Amazon's liaison with the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and was hired in 2015 to supervise strategic partnerships in the company's drone program. He oversaw a large amount of Amazon's relations with the FAA, as Amazon worked towards obtaining necessary regulatory approvals to expand the program.
"This is my last day at Prime Air and at Amazon, so a quick note to pass along my profound thanks to so many of my friends and colleagues here who have made this nearly nine-year journey such an amazing experience," Cassidy reportedly wrote in a memo.
