Amazon Web Services (AWS) is giving discounts for its artificial intelligence (AI) chips in order to compete with Nvidia Corporation and draw in more customers, The Information reported on Tuesday.

According to one AWS client who spoke to the media outlet, the company allegedly offered its renting servers powered by the chip, Trainium, which boasts an identical computing power as Nvidia's H100 semiconductors at 25% of the price.

Last year, AWS representatives mentioned that businesses looking for alternatives to Nvidia, which include tech giants such as Apple Inc., are experimenting with the most recent version of the Trainium chip.
