Asia-Pacific markets traded mostly higher Monday, as speculation grew around the anticipated discussions on a possible merger between Honda and Nissan, expected to start today.
Japan's Nikkei 225 was up 1.26% at 7:21 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng climbed 0.57% and South Korea's Kospi jumped 1.60%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 closed 1.67% higher. Meanwhile, in mainland China, the Shanghai Composite was 0.56% down while the Shenzhen Composite fell 2.28% at the same time.
The dollar traded 0.13% higher against the yen at 7:20 am CET, selling for 156.5585.
