World No. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic will remain in Australia until a final decision on his entry visa is made on Monday, the Federal Circuit Court stated on Thursday.
It is still unknown if the 34-year-old Serb will have to stay in the Park Hotel in Melbourne, where he is being kept now, or not. The aforementioned facility usually serves to accommodate refugees that try to enter Australia are usually taken to while their requests are being revised.
Djokovic was initially given an "exemption permission" by Tennis Australia to compete at the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open, without being vaccinated against COVID-19. Upon his arrival, the Australian Border Force (ABF) denied him entry into the country as the player allegedly failed to provide enough evidence he has deserved the exemption.
