Major stock indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Wednesday as investors await the Bank of Japan's decision on rates. The market participants also assessed data published by the Finance Ministry of Japan, showing that the country's total merchandise trade surplus landed at ¥584.5 billion in February.
Japan's Nikkei 225 added 0.59% at 3:12 am CET, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.36% at 03:13 am CET and South Korea's Kospi grew by 0.65% at 3:14 am CET. On the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite shrank by 0.39% and the Shenzhen Composite decreased by 0.73% at 3:15 am CET. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 traded flat at 3:16 am CET.
The dollar traded flat against the yen at 3:17 am CET, selling for 149.36900.
