Stock exchanges in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly lower on Friday as investors digested this week's central bank decisions. The Bank of England (BoE), the People's Bank of China (PBoC), the Bank of Japan (BoJ) and the United States Federal Reserve all opted to keep the key interest rate unchanged.
The Shanghai Composite lost 1.45% and the Shenzhen Composite dipped by 1.84% at 7:00 am CET. At 7:15 am CET, South Korea's Kospi went up by 0.13% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng slumped by 2.42%. Meanwhile, Australian S&P/ASX 200 closed 0.16% above. Japan's Nikkei 225 was flat. The dollar rose 0.33% against the Japanese yen, selling at 149.50450 a minute later.
