Billionaire Elon Musk on Sunday deleted a tweet in which he shared a conspiracy theory about the attack on Paul Pelosi, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband.

"There is a tiny possibility there might be more to this story than meets the eye," Musk wrote in a since-deleted reply to former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The tweet linked to a story by the Santa Monica Observer, which has a history of publishing false information, including one from 2016 that claimed Secretary Clinton had died in the September 11 attacks.

In the tweet that prompted a response by the new Twitter owner, Clinton took aim at the Republican Party for spreading hate and conspiracies. "It is shocking, but not surprising, that violence is the result," she wrote.
