Chemical substances and technical devices were found at a residence in Ternitz, Lower Austria, belonging to the 19-year-old suspect of plotting an attack on several Taylor Swift concerts in Viena, Austria's Interior Ministry's public security director Franz Ruf told public broadcaster ORF's Oe1 program on Thursday.
Ruf further added that the alleged perpetrator had uploaded a pledge of allegiance to the current leader of the Islamic State group onto an internet account. Another individual was apprehended in the capital city of Austria. Authorities have stated that both suspects had taken "concrete preparatory measures" for a terrorist attack.
As a result of the uncovered plans, three scheduled performances in Austria were subsequently canceled on Wednesday.
