Volkswagen Group's Bentley Motors Limited announced on Tuesday it is delaying its earlier plans to convert its entire production to electric vehicles (EVs) only by 2030 due to varying market conditions.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Adrian Hallmark said the plans will be rescheduled for a few years later as the company found global demand for EVs grows more slowly than expected. Until then, Bentley will still have plug-in hybrids and battery electric vehicles (BEVs) "but not for ten years, maybe just for a couple of years as we run them out."
Earlier, Hallmark accused the British government of doing "nothing to help" the United Kingdom carmakers attract investment in their electric transitions.
