Germany's Office of the Federal President confirmed on Monday in a statement that French President Emmanuel Macron will be paying a visit to the country between July 2 and 4.
The Elysee Palace announced that this will be the first state visit by a French president to Germany in 23 years. "This honor paid to the President of the Republic will thus mark a new stage in Franco-German friendship, in this year of the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of the Elysee," it was noted in the statement.
Macron and his German counterpart, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, will be visiting several regions in the country.
