United States President Joe Biden called for an emergency meeting with Group of Seven (G7) nations and NATO members on the sidelines of the G20 summit, the Associated Press reported.

The talks were called in response to a missile strike that took the lives of two people in Eastern Poland on Tuesday. Polish foreign ministry said the projectile was Russian-made, but President Andrzej Duda stressed that there is still no concrete evidence pointing to who fired the missile.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni separately confirmed the proceedings, writing in a tweet that she prepares to "check the facts and consider next steps" with her country's allies.
