United States President Joe Biden has been briefed Friday about the IT global outage that affected flights, payment systems, stock markets, financial entities, and also 911 services in the US due to a recently made security update to CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor software that caused malfunction of Microsoft 365 apps and services.

A White House official quoted by The Wall Street Journal confirmed Biden had received information while still in recovery after testing positive for COVID-19. Additionally, the administration "is in touch with CrowdStrike and impacted entities" to obtain "sector by sector updates throughout the day and is standing by to provide assistance as needed."

On Thursday, the White House said that Biden was focused on recovering and was staying updated on national security issues.
