Disney and the state of Florida reached an agreement on Wednesday to end litigation in a state court concerning the control of Walt Disney World's governing district, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.

"This agreement opens a new chapter of constructive engagement with the new leadership of the district and serves the interests of all parties by enabling significant continued investment and the creation of thousands of direct and indirect jobs and economic opportunity in the State," a spokesperson said.

The move put an end to nearly two years of contentious litigation initiated by DeSantis' actions against Disney. This legal conflict followed Disney's opposition to the controversial "Don't Say Gay" law, which prohibits discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity in early education.
