US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Friday that there is no need to adjust the country's nuclear posture. "We don't see any indications that Russia is preparing to use a nuclear weapon," he said.
His statements come after Russian President Vladimir Putin said that they have already delivered their first tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus. In addition, Putin also took the opportunity to add that "this is the first part" because "by the end of summer, by the end of the year," Moscow will conclude "this work."
Following Putin's remarks, the US diplomat declared he had seen the comments; nevertheless, the administration will "continue to monitor the situation very closely and very carefully."
