Boeing and Etihad Airways announced on Monday that they agreed to jointly test Boeing's ecoDemonstrator program on a 787-10 Dreamliner before the aircraft is delivered to Etihad.

The ecoDemonstrator program aims to make flying more sustainable. The companies will be testing noise reduction potential on the airplanes, which will be flying on a blend of sustainable fuel. Additionally, test flights will be performed to test workload reduction for operations centers as well as air traffic controllers as well as radio frequency congestion.

The tests will start in August and last about four weeks before the aircraft are delivered to Etihad.
