China to halve stamp duty on stock trading

The Chinese Finance Ministry announced on Sunday that it will cut the stamp duty on stock trading from 0.1% to 0.05% starting from Monday.

"In order to activate the capital market and boost investor confidence, starting from August 28, 2023, the stamp duty on securities transactions will be halved," the ministry announced on its website on Sunday.
